Darwin Nunez in brawl
Darwin Nunez’s Copa America 2024 semi-final ended in chaos and violence as Uruguay lost against Colombia in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The Liverpool striker was caught up in a riot with Colombia supporters, exchanging punches with those in the stands at the conclusion of a bad-tempered contest.
A solitary Jefferson Lerma goal for 10-man Colombia was enough to end Nunez’s interest in the competition but the result was not even the beginning of the story.

FSG in Bordeaux talks
Bordeaux have confirmed talks with FSG ahead of a game-changing move for the Liverpool ownership group.
There has been plenty of talk in recent months about Liverpool owners FSG wanting to enter the world of multi-club ownership. Now there's official confirmation that it is the case.
Girondins de Bordeaux have released an official statement on talks, with FSG aiming to secure a majority stake in the French side. But it does come with complications.

USA contact Jurgen Klopp
Contact has been made with Jurgen Klopp over what could be his first post-Liverpool job. An offer will surely follow.
The Independent reports that US Soccer has made initial contact with Jurgen Klopp over replacing Greg Berhalter as their Men's National Team boss. Berhalter was sacked after an incredibly poor performance at the Copa America on home soil.
The US failed to get out of their group and actually lost to Panama. Change was essential, really, and they're now looking to go big with his replacement.

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has thrown his future into doubt with surprise comments after the Netherlands lost to England at Euro 2024.
Virgil van Dijk suffered a massive blow on Wednesday as his Netherlands team lost 2-1 to England at Euro 2024. It's a defeat that clearly struck the Dutch captain - he was one game away from leading his country out in a final.
It's enough that Van Dijk wants to assess his future in football. That includes figuring out his Liverpool future, which is suddenly very unclear.

Van Dijk furious at referee
After their heartbreak at the death, Dutch captain Van Dijk spoke to the press, taking aim at referee Zwayer, suggesting he RAN from the pitch after the game due to the penalty decision he had earlier given.
"It says it all that the referee goes in so quickly," the 33-year-old told NOS.
"But to blame that now... I have to stand here too. I don't know what to say at all. This hurts so much."
Zwayer served a suspension earlier in his career for a match-fixing event back in 2005 and Van Dijk was later asked about the semi-final appointment.
