Liverpool FC news recap: Amorim's uncertain future, ticket price outrage & big Torres decision
It's been another day of interesting news for Liverpool supporters, with the Reds returning to the top of the Premier League on Thursday night.
Jurgen Klopp's side secured a 3-1 win over Sheffield United and there has been plenty of reaction to a hugely important result in the Premier League title race.
However, there has also been a significant Ruben Amorim update amid continuous Liverpool links.
Here is your Liverpool FC news recap from Friday, 5 April.
RUBEN AMORIM UNCERTAIN ON SPORTING CP FUTURE
Ruben Amorim has admitted that he may not be Sporting CP's manager next season as Liverpool's interest in the coach intensifies.
The Sporting coach has a release clause in his deal with the Portuguese side and the Reds remain incredibly keen on ensuring that he succeeds Klopp this summer, with Amorim now the favourite for the position.
The 39-year-old is yet to rule out a move to Merseyside and has now suggested that he cannot guarantee his future as Sporting boss.
Speaking in a recent press conference, Amorim was asked whether he could guarantee he would be Sporting manager next term, to which he replied: "No I can't.
"Sporting are dealing with their future and I will not go back on my word. First, we will win trophies and then we will see. We are on the right track.
"The future has been a long time in the making and we are outlining what it will be."

OUTRAGE AS LIVERPOOL INCREASE TICKET PRICES
Liverpool's supporters' groups have been left 'incredibly disappointed' by the club's ticket price increases ahead of the 2024/25 season.
On Thursday, Liverpool FC issued a ticketing update for the coming Premier League campaign, which confirmed a two per cent rise for season tickets and members’ matchday tickets.
The club statement put the price hike down to "a result of significant increase in costs across the club. In the past six years annual operating costs for Anfield have increased by nearly 40 per cent."
The price increase announcement was not well received by supporters' union Spirit of Shankly, who suggested fans had been ignored in a statement on X (Twitter).
The group posted: "There’s been no meaningful consultation with supporters over this & it was totally opposed by SOS & the majority on the Supporters Board @SpionKop1906 - it doesn’t reflect the discussions we had when they informed us of their plans. We are incredibly disappointed with @LFC."

FERNANDO TORRES MAKES HUGE CAREER DECISION
Former Reds striker Fernando Torres has made an important decision on his future in football following his recent return to Liverpool.
The Spaniard came back to Merseyside for an LFC Legends match over the March international break and scored in front of the Kop during a 4-2 victory over Ajax Legends.
However, Torres then asked if he could make another trip to Liverpool to take a closer look around the club's facilities and spend time with Jurgen Klopp behind the scenes as he looks to gain greater experience on his path to becoming a successful manager.
Relevo have now reported that Torres will leave his position as Atletico Madrid U19s head coach come the end of the season, with his side currently seven points clear of rivals Real Madrid in the league with just five games to play.
He has decided to 'change objectives' as he believes he has 'completed his cycle' with the U19s squad, with Atletico now having to decide whether to promote him to a more significant role or allow him to explore options elsewhere.

DARWIN NUNEZ HITS IMPRESSIVE MILESTONE
Darwin Nunez hit a fantastic milestone for the season by scoring a bizarre goal for Liverpool against Sheffield United on Thursday night.
Darwin opened the scoring for Liverpool in a 3-1 win with a goal which confounded xG modelling. The Uruguayan knew nothing of it.
Nunez charged down Sheffield United goalkeeper Ivo Grbic as he tried to hoof it up the pitch. The ball clattered off of the Liverpool striker's back leg and flew into the goal. 1-0, pretty much by accident.
That was Nunez's 11th Premier League goal of the season and his 18th in all competitions. Combined with his 12 assists, the 24-year-old now has 30 goal contributions for the campaign.
It's considerably up on what he managed in his debut season - 20 contributions. And there's still well over a month of the season to go, of course.
