Liverpool prodigy Jayden Danns passes his most MOMENTOUS test to date

There has been much to celebrate at Liverpool as of late.

Top of the league, perfect start in the Champions League, the surging form of a new number of key players. A crucial one, as well, is the success of the youth team setup.

Trey Nyoni made it into the matchday squad against Bologna on Wednesday night, Amara Nallo scored on his captaincy in the UEFA Youth League, and Rio Ngumoha is already delivering on his early promise.

But all of these pale in comparison with the seismic news that Jayden Danns passed his driving test, as announced on his Instagram story.

Whilst this may seem facetious, we can reassure you it’s not. Passing your driving test in the UK is no joke.

If you do manage to pass the Theory test question section - an hour-long multiple choice scenario in the mind-numbing British school tradition of seeing just how much you can reduce someone’s passion for something - and the hazard perception test, a section where genuinely good advice is ‘assume everything on the roads is dangerous’, then you get to go for a practical.

You better be ready for that practical. It’s a test of nerves, sat next to a person you’ve never met before, full of hill starts and parallel parks and following a sat nav system for 20 minutes (brave new world).

And if, for some reason, that’s not the comfortable environment that you need to operate a one-tonne box of metal, then you currently have to wait around four months to try again in the highly-likely event you fail.

As a result, Danns passing is a huge green flag for the club. It demonstrates calmness, composure under pressure and a high level of technical skill in the face of adversity. But this was to be expected from the youngster who took his chances in the first team when he was afforded them.

His start to this season has been plagued by a back injury, but with him slowly being reintegrated into training, it hopefully won’t be long until we see the prodigy back on the pitch.
