Liverpool FC news recap: AWFUL at Anfield, Alisson SPEAKS, Ngumoha DEBUT
Here's a round-up of all the latest Liverpool news for Saturday, September 14th. Arne Slot suffered his first defeat as Liverpool manager as the Reds fell at Anfield to Nottingham Forest.
Liverpool fall to Nottingham Forest
Liverpool went down 1-0 at Anfield to Nottingham Forest - their first defeat of the Arne Slot era. The Reds just weren't good enough, in truth, struggling to create chances and then losing control of the game.
It means attention turns sharply to AC Milan on Tuesday. Liverpool will look to bounce back rapidly in that one and recapture some of the momentum they had pre-international break.

Alisson criticises his teammates' defending for Hudson Odoi's winner
Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker didn’t hold back as he discussed his side’s defending against Nottingham Forest at Anfield on Saturday.
Liverpool put in a very poor performance at Anfield on Saturday - the polar opposite of their efforts before the international break. The Reds struggled to carve out chances against Nottingham Forest, falling to a 1-0 defeat in the Premier League.
That's Arne Slot's first defeat as head coach - and one he was not happy about. Understandably, too, as he watched his team consistently fumble chances to create in and around Forest's box.
But he was far from the only infuriated Liverpool figure. Alisson Becker, conceding his first goal of the season, didn't hold back when talking about how unimpressed he was with the defending in front of him.

Arne Slot offers honest assesment on his side's first defeat
Arne Slot has reacted strongly to his Liverpool team losing at Anfield against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
Liverpool sunk to a poor defeat on Saturday as Nottingham Forest rocked up to Anfield and left with three points. It was the Reds' first defeat under Arne Slot - and their first goal conceded.
In truth, the home side did very little across 90 minutes. They couldn't create much of anything, constantly failing with their final ball once they got close to the Forest goal.
That's something that particularly infuriated Slot, who gave a scathing reaction to his team's defeat.

Rio Ngumoha makes Liverpool debut
Liverpool's new young talent Rio Ngumoha made his debut in red today as he came off the bench in Liverpool U18s' 2-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers.
Ngumoha was introduced into the fold with just over twenty minutes to go and his speed, skill and directness were there for all to see within moments of being subbed on.
The winger picked up the ball from deep and demonstrated immense pace to effortlessly beat his full-back before producing a perfect cross with his weak foot [left] that almost produced a Liverpool equaliser. That was his very first moment in a Red shirt and it was an electric one - the brightest moment of the entire game for Liverpool.
