Van Dijk on CONTRACT, Koopmeiners HOPE, Kelleher FUTURE - Liverpool FC news recap
Here’s our Liverpool FC news recap for Wednesday 29th May. Virgil van Dijk gave an update on his contract talks - or lack thereof.
Van Dijk on contract talks
Virgil van Dijk is about to enter the last 12 months of his current Liverpool contract and admits there have been NO TALKS about a new one.
The 32-year-old defender sees his terms expire in 2025 alongside another high-profile duo in Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold but negotiations appear at a standstill for all three Liverpool superstars.
Van Dijk, the club captain, has been rumoured to be a transfer target for Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and money-bags Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Qadsiah with this summer representing the club’s last chance to cash in should they choose to do so.

Van den Berg price set
Liverpool have set a valuation of £20 million for Sepp van den Berg, according to James Pearce of the Athletic.
However, the Dutch defender’s future won’t be sorted until new head coach Arne Slot makes his assessment of the squad.
It was reported in Germany last week that Van den Berg could be on the move to Mainz for a fee as little as €5m (£4.3m).
But the latest news out of Anfield would appear to end those rumours, with Southampton, Brentford and Wolfsburg now also named as suitors by Pearce.

Gravenberch on Slot
Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch says he's happy at Anfield and wants to stay - despite speculation he could leave this summer.
The 22-year-old Dutchman showed flashes of real promise in starting 26 Premier League games following a big-money move from Bayern Munich last year. But in recent weeks he has been consistently linked with a transfer to Turkey this summer.
Gravenberch though says he has no intention of leaving Merseyside after just one season, telling Dutch outlet AD: “I hope to play here at Liverpool for years to come, it’s a top club.

Liverpool chase Koopmeiners
Liverpool face significant competition in the race to sign Atalanta midfielder Teun Koopmeiners, with Italian giants Juventus making a move to get ahead in the battle to sign him.
The Reds have long been linked with the 26-year-old Dutch playmaker, who wasinstrumental in helping the Bergamo outfit claim Europa League glory this season.
That run to the final of course included a quarter-final success over Jurgen Klopp's men.Juventus though are big admirers of Koopmeiners, and according to Gazzetta dello Sport they have already formulated their opening offer to Atalanta.
Per the respected Italian daily, it may not be successful though as the €40 million plus €5m in add-ons will fall well short of the €60m valuation Atalanta have for their talented star man.

Kelleher farewell?
Caoimhin Kelleher has given the clearest indication yet that he will be LEAVING Liverpool during the upcoming transfer window.
The 25-year-old has previously admitted that he came close to leaving Anfield last summer as he’s got a clear desire to become a first-choice goalkeeper in his own right having played second fiddle to Alisson Becker for so long.
Although the Irish international managed over 25 appearances in Liverpool’s goal last season - collecting another Carabao Cup title along the way - it has been suggested that he might finally bring the curtain down on his career on Merseyside this summer after five seasons at the club.
It’s been reported that the Reds might seek a transfer fee of around £20 million for the 12-cap Irishman, who is under contract until 2026.
