After Liverpool’s triumph against AC Milan in the Champions League last night, the Reds will be looking for more of the same in the later weeks of the tournament.

And going into the knockout stages, the Reds may be looking to strengthen the squad in certain departments in January.

And there is a hint they may be starting this process tonight during one Champions League affair.

Liverpool eye Girona duo

The competition continues tonight as many big-name clubs take the stage. One of these will be Paris Saint-Germain who take on La Liga side Girona FC.

According to CaughtOffside, Liverpool will be looking at the duo of Girona midfielder Viktor Tsygankov and defender Miguel Gutierrez who are said to have caught the eye of Arne Slot

The Reds will have scouts at the game tonight to assess their performances. The pair have also attracted interest from Arsenal, as well as Aston Villa who will reportedly have representatives present at the game too.

The report suggests that Girona are willing to sell the players if the right offer comes in for them.

Salah and Robertson replacements

Tsygankov is an attacking midfielder who is mainly used on the right wing. He had a phenomenal season for Girona last year, scoring eight goals and providing seven assists.

The Ukrainian international is known for his dynamic playmaking and with the future of Mohamed Salah in doubt, he could be an option as a replacement.

Gutierrez is a left-back who was signed from Real Madrid in 2022. He is still considerably young at 23 years old, however he has proved he should be starting week in and week out.

Last season, he helped keep 10 clean sheets and also won a gold medal with the Spanish team at the 2024 Paris Olympics this summer. He could be a great option for Liverpool and could compete with Andy Robertson for his position.

The players reportedly are also keen on a move to the Premier League. It will be interesting to see how they perform tonight and whether the Reds think it's worth taking a punt on them.
