Liverpool's predicted XI for their clash against Villarreal

Villarreal will welcome Liverpool to the Estadio de la Ceramica tonight. The Champions League semi-final second leg clash will kick-off at 8pm BST.

Despite the fact that the Reds possess a two-goal aggregate lead heading into the match, Jurgen Klopp is taking nothing for granted.

As quoted by Sky Sports, the Liverpool boss said the following during his pre-game press conference: "At this moment, a Champions League semi-final is the most important game you can play. Whatever happened in the last few weeks or will happen in the next few weeks is not important, for this moment is clear.

"You never know if you will reach a semi-final again or if we will ever have the chance again to go to the final, you never know. We have an exceptional team here and nothing is for granted. You need luck in moments and all these sorts of things, so you better treat it carefully and be ready, and we will be ready.

"We really want it, we want to be where we are, and we want to go to the final. If Villarreal is better than us and beat us with a result which qualifies them for the final then congratulations, that's it. But between now and then there are 95, or however many minutes to play, and I'm looking forward to it."

Below is our predicted Liverpool XI for tonight's fixture.

Alisson - Goalkeeper

Alisson was superb against Newcastle United last weekend. The shot-stopper registered a WhoScored player rating of 7.02 for his performance at St James' Park.

We don't see Klopp resting his No.1 goalkeeper for such a big game.

Trent Alexander-Arnold - Right-back

Klopp opted to give Alexander-Arnold a rest last weekend. The right-back sat on the bench for the entire game.

Therefore, it would be fair to assume that one of the best right-backs in the world will return to the starting lineup tonight.

Ibrahima Konate - Centre-back

Konate is another player that sat on the bench for the entire 90 minutes at St James' Park. The centre-back started in four matches for Liverpool across April.

With that being the case, there is a fair possibility that Konate will start against Villarreal.

Virgil van Dijk - Centre-back

Van Dijk rarely misses a beat. The Dutchman has made 46 appearances for Liverpool this season.

We can't see Klopp resting his general for a Champions League semi-final.

Kostas Tsimikas - Left-back

We can see Klopp giving Tsimikas an opportunity against Villarreal. Andy Robertson, Liverpool's first-choice left-back, put a lot of energy into the game against Newcastle United.

Klopp has also given Tsimikas a chance this season. The Greece international has made 21 appearances. So, don't be surprised to see Tsimikas' name on the team sheet tonight.

Fabinho - Holding midfield

Fabinho was benched last weekend against the Magpies. However, the Brazil international did play 21 minutes at St James' Park.

Fabinho, a staple in Klopp's midfield, is well rested ahead of Villarreal.

Jordan Henderson - Midfield

It is unlikely that Klopp would leave out his captain for such a big clash. Henderson was very good against Villarreal at Anfield last week.

The midfielder was the architect behind Liverpool's first goal and he gave his side plenty of energy in the middle of the park.

Thiago Alcantara - Midfield

Thiago has been in superb form as of late. But, we are always fearful that he might suffer an injury. Thiago has a shocking fitness record.

So, we were glad to see Klopp give the midfielder a rest against the Magpies ahead of Villarreal.

Mohamed Salah - Wing

Salah is a goal machine. The winger has scored eight goals in 11 Champions League appearances this season.

Hopefully the Egyptian international can find the back of the net once again to propel Liverpool towards the final.

Luis Diaz - Wing

As we have explained earlier today, Diaz has been electric in recent weeks.

With that being the case, we fully expect him to start against Villarreal.

Sadio Mane - Centre-forward

Mane has been in really good form lately. The Senegal international, who is a winger by trade, has been playing as a centre-forward in recent weeks.

Mane has scored six goals in his past eight appearances. Hopefully the 30-year-old can continue his good form tonight.
