Liverpool transfer news today: Olmo CLAUSE, Rabiot BOOST, Andre to Premier League
Here’s all the latest Liverpool transfer news as talk continues of potentially triggering Dani Olmo’s release clause.
No, Liverpool haven't officially signed any senior players just yet. The Reds are taking things slow but to be fair, they've got a new manager, a new sporting director, and there are two major international tournaments.
That's going to slow things down.
Things should speed up soon, however, as players return and the Reds settle with their new personnel. So here's what's supposedly happening behind the scenes.
Liverpool and Dani Olmo's clause
Liverpool are reportedly ‘ready’ to trigger a £50m release clause before time runs out next week.
German outlet nd claims Liverpool are one of three clubs 'said to be ready' to trigger Dani Olmo's release clause. The Spaniard can be signed for £50m - as long as a club triggers the clause before next Monday.
Olmo will feature for Spain in Sunday's Euro 2024 final against England, almost certainly preventing any kind of movement for at least the next couple of days. After that, however, things could move quickly.
Rabiot boost for Liverpool
Adrien Rabiot is one of the most high-profile names on the list of free agents this summer. The 29-year-old Frenchman opted to leave Juventus when his contract expired on June 30.
The Italian giants were stunned by that development as they had made an attempt to renew his deal before he went to the European Championship with France.
Juventus had offered Rabiot a two-year extension worth between €7.5 million and €8m per season, with an option for an added year.
Tuttosport NOW is claiming that Juventus don’t see re-signing Rabiot as a priority task this summer. They also name Liverpool, Bayern Munich and AC Milan as contenders for Rabiot’s signature and now that the player’s interest in Euro 2024 is at an end he will now focus on sorting out his future.
Andre finally heads to Premier League
Former Liverpool target Andre Trindade is set to secure his long-awaited Premier League move this summer, with Fulham in advanced discussions over the Brazilian defensive midfielder.
The Fluminense ace, who won the 2023 Copa Libertadores, was strongly linked with a move to Anfield last summer and then again during January.
There were even reports during the winter transfer window that the Reds had launched a bid for the five-cap Brazil international, but a move to Merseyside never materialised.
