Following Brazil’s elimination from the Copa America at the start of July, Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker enjoyed an extended summer holiday with his family.

In a series of posts on Instagram, his wife Natalia documented their wide-ranging activities since Brazil’s aforementioned elimination from this summer’s Copa at the hands of Uruguay.

Family time is clearly one of the most important things to the Reds’ No.1, and only a few days after his nation’s exit, Alisson was at the birthday celebrations of his niece in Portugal.

After that, he and his family were relaxing in his home state of Rio Grande do Sul, near Brazil’s borders with Argentina and Uruguay in the south-east of the country.

From social posts last week, we can see that Alisson and his family enjoyed time fishing and riding on horseback, and it’s evident that he enjoyed a peaceful time away from football after what has been a longer season than most for him.

Unusually for him, Alisson fell to injury at several points during the 2023/24 season, which forced the now possibly departing Caomhin Kelleher to ably deputise at various points throughout Liverpool’s campaign.

When does Alisson return to Liverpool?

With Liverpool’s other players from the Copa America such as Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Alexis Mac Allister, and those who went deep into the Euros such as Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk all returning to the AXA Training Centre earlier this week, there was some trepidation from Reds about Alisson’s extended break.

The extra time spent off for Alisson is not expected to impact Liverpool’s start to the season, as there is still over a week left until they travel to Portman Road to face newly-promoted Ipswich in a 12:30 Saturday kick-off on the 17th of August.

This should leave plenty of time for Alisson to get back up to speed with the rest of the squad and be in between the sticks for the Reds’ first competitive game of the season.
