Jurgen Klopp's Champions League final plans emerge after Liverpool exit

Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool tenure may be drawing to an emotional close but the German is very much in demand as he plots life after leaving the Merseyside giants.

Following Sunday's Premier League clash at home to Wolves, Klopp will have managed his last game as Reds manager and the club are building to the moment by releasing 'the final interview' where the 56-year-old reflects on his tenure, Anfield, connections, the future and comparisons to Bill Shankly.

A fascinating read but perhaps the biggest intrigue surrounds what Klopp will do next. Upon announcing his departure at the beginning of the year, the fact he explained to supporters he was "running out of energy" effectively rules out a swift return to management.

With that said, Klopp is won't be leaving football altogether. In fact, his very first public sighting after departing Liverpool looks set to be on June 1, 2024 after revealing he has been invited to watch his former club Borussia Dortmund take on Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final at Wembley Stadium.

"Holiday. [The] Champions League final with Dortmund, I got invited, so we will watch that," he said when asked what is next after leaving Liverpool.

Klopp's holiday plans

"It's not that I tried a lot, so I didn't have time. I had time but a summer holiday for me at least at the end of the season was like falling on the first available sunbed and having a phone here and talking to agents, sporting directors, stuff like that," he added.

"Having no training sessions, yes, but the rest was pretty much still going on. So that means I didn't see one per cent of the world for nothing.

"Now we will do nothing, we will watch the Euros here and there, really looking forward to that and then holiday doing nothing and then the plan is start to travel and we will see how that goes."
