Liverpool have entered the race to sign Federico Chiesa but Barcelona remain interested and this is how the Italian would feel about a move to Spain.

As usual, Liverpool are being opportunistic in the summer transfer window and their latest out of the blue move is for Federico Chiesa.

The Italian is someone who has been on the club's radar for years now, and has always been highly rated by Michael Edwards and his recruitment team during the latter's first spell at the club.

In the years that have passed since there is no denying Chiesa has had his fair share of injury problems. However, with the 26-year-old available for just €15m (approximately £12.6m) - this is an opportunity the Reds will be eager to explore as the club remains eager to bolster Arne Slot's attacking options.

But Liverpool cannot get ahead of themselves yet. So far, in this transfer window, the Reds have had to learn lessons the hard way and have faced rejection most notably by Martin Zubimendi.

Juventus may be open to selling Chiesa, and Liverpool might be keen on the winger. However, everything will hinge on how the Italian feels about a move to Anfield. Fabrizio Romano has reported that Chiesa would be open to a move to Liverpool.

But, Sport in Spain report that the winger is also 'determined' to sign for Barcelona with the Catalans 'convinced' that they will be able to land Chiesa despite the fact that they currently cannot afford Juventus' asking price for the player and are unable to register new players.

The report claims that Chiesa is happy to be patient and wait for Barcelona to get their financial situation back on track. However, with the clock ticking it is moot just how patient he is willing to be.

It's still all to play for Liverpool, and the club is gearing up for a hectic few days ahead.
