Thiago Alcantara was spotted at Anfield for Saturday’s clash between his former team Liverpool and Nottingham Forest.
Thiago retired from professional football when his contract expired at the end of last season and he had a brief stint as a coach for Hansi Flick’s Barcelona over the summer.
Thiago has since left Barca and returned to Liverpool, where he lives with his wife and children.
The Spaniard last appeared on the pitch at Anfield when Liverpool beat Nottingham Forest 3-2 on April 22, 2023.
The 33-year-old was limited to just five minutes of football last season and made the decision to hang up his boots after he left Liverpool at the end of his contract.

Thiago’s time at Liverpool
Thiago joined Liverpool in 2020, only months after winning the Champions League with Bayern Munich, and he took the number six shirt vacated by Dejan Lovren earlier in the summer.
The veteran midfielder’s time at Anfield was plagued by injuries and the 46-capped Spaniard only managed 98 appearances for Liverpool, although he did deliver some magic moments for the Reds.
The seven-time Bundesliga champion only scored three times for Liverpool but one of these goals will be remembered as one of the best Anfield has ever seen.

Thiago was one of a number of players who left Liverpool at the end of last season, as well as Joel Matip and Adrian.
The trio were given a farewell alongside Jurgen Klopp and some of his staff following Liverpool’s final day victory over Wolves.
