"You can feel his arrogance" - Agent on Trent Alexander-Arnold

Super agent Rob Segal has criticised Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Scouser has been well off the pace so far this season, especially defensively. Alexander-Arnold just hasn't been sniffing out the danger.

Segal believes that the 23-year-old has got a bit ahead of himself in recent times.

“Liverpool have major injury problems which haven’t helped and a player like Trent Alexander-Arnold probably needs a prolonged rest,” he told Caught Offside.

“However, because of his standing within the club, you can feel his arrogance when he is slowly running back to goal. Alexander-Arnold knows that no matter what he does, right or wrong, he is likely to start week in, week out.

“It is no secret that Alexander-Arnold is a lot better going forward than he is defensively, so his weaknesses need to be covered and unfortunately for (Jurgen) Klopp, at the moment, none of his side’s backline are playing particularly well. The timing of their drop-off in form has been really unfortunate.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

Alexander-Arnold has achieved so much at a young age. The right-back has found the back of the net 14 times and registered 62 assists in 234 appearances for Liverpool's first-team.

Alexander-Arnold has also won the two biggest trophies in club football - the Champions League and Premier League title.

The 23-year-old could potentially be a bit tired after the past few seasons. The reality is, the players have put a lot of energy into recent campaigns.

So, we wouldn't be surprised if the youngster was a little bit exhausted. But, we are confident that Alexander-Arnold will get back to his best.

He is a world-class talent after all.
