'Will go on' - Pundit warns Sadio Mane about leaving Liverpool this summer

Simon Jordan has warned Sadio Mane that moving to Bayern Munich might not be the best thing for his career.

Speaking on TalkSport, as cited by HITC, the pundit implied that the grass is not always greener on the other side when talking about the winger's likely departure from Liverpool this summer.

“I think his departure has been priced in,” said Jordan. “I think the (Luis) Diaz signing has been priced into their thinking.

“It’s about money now. Mane was probably always going to go and it has come to light now that he is more robust about leaving now than he originally was.

“Mane is such a potent part of their strike force. (Jurgen) Klopp and Liverpool, as they have done previously, will go on. Make changes, amend and move things around.

“They didn’t want Coutinho to leave. He went. Did nothing elsewhere and ends up at Aston Villa. And if Sadio Mane wants to go.

“It’s going to get hard what you want. £40 million quid for a player that is 30, on the last year of his contract, is a difficult one to achieve.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

I don't think it's fair to compare Mane's situation to Coutinho's. The Brazilian forced a move away from Anfield during the 2017-18 season after he faked a back injury.

Meanwhile, Mane played his heart out until the last game of the 2021-22 campaign and he's respectfully asked for a change of scenery.

It does look like the Senegalese forward will be departing Anfield this summer after six long years at the club.

After Liverpool rejected Bayern Munich's first two bids for Mane, the Reds expect the German champions to meet their valuation of more than £40 million for the forward, according to the Telegraph.

It'll be sad not seeing Mane play for Liverpool anymore, but players can't represent a club forever.
