Which Liverpool players are close to Premier League suspensions?

Liverpool will be pushed all the way in their bid to become Premier League champions this season, with both Manchester City and Arsenal vying for top spot.

Therefore, Jurgen Klopp needs as many players as possible at his disposal for the run-in, with injuries starting to ease slightly for the Liverpool boss.

One thing he could do without over the next two months is needless suspensions, with Premier League players handed a two-match ban for accumulating ten yellow cards within the first 32 games of the league campaign.

With Liverpool desperate to avoid missing any players for crucial upcoming clashes, here are the Reds who need to be wary of getting booked.

LIVERPOOL PLAYERS CLOSE TO A PREMIER LEAGUE SUSPENSION

Fortunately for Klopp, only two Liverpool players are at threat of picking up a two-game ban within the next four Premier League matches. Unfortunately, they are both key players.

Darwin Nunez, rather unsurprisingly, is the closest to suspension with eight bookings at present, meaning he needs to avoid picking up two more within the next four matches.

It would be foolish to bet against the Uruguayan seeing yellow twice in the coming weeks given his booking history, with Klopp perhaps needing to have a word with the former Benfica man.

The only other player at risk of reaching the yellow card limit is Wataru Endo, with the midfielder currently sat on seven cautions.

That means the Japan international, who hasn't been booked in his last seven Liverpool games, simply needs to avoid receiving three yellows in his next four matches.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alexis Mac Allister are Liverpool's next most booked players with five each, but they won't be able to reach the ten-card threshold within the next few weeks.

The likes of Cody Gakpo, Caoimhin Kelleher and Ryan Gravenberch are some of the few Liverpool first-team players not to have been cautioned at all in the Premier League this season.
