Last season isn’t full of many good memories, but the game against Manchester United at Old Trafford to save any hopes of a top four finish is up there with a couple of other enjoyable moments.
It was Jurgen Klopp’s first win at Old Trafford, ironically enough, as he was forced to start Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams as a defensive pairing. On paper, a win against Manchester never looked more unlikely, especially when Bruno Fernandes put the hosts ahead. Yet, by the end of the first-half, the tide had changed; Liverpool had taken the lead.
A flick from Diogo Jota and a header from Roberto Firmino just before half-time flipped the game on its head, before Firmino made it 3-1 and Salah cancelled out Rashford’s attempted comeback to seal all three points at Old Trafford.
