"Very exciting signing for them" - Journalist on Divock Origi's move to AC Milan

Journalist Mina Rzouki has revealed that the supporters of AC Milan are excited by Divock Origi's arrival.

The forward is on the verge of joining the Serie A club on a free transfer. With that being the case, Rzouki was asked if the AC Milan supporters are looking forward to watching Origi in action.

As quoted by HITC, she told Sky Sports News the following: “There is a lot of excitement. He’s very excited to be there. I think he is very much the type of player they were looking for.

“He was a fan favourite when he was at Liverpool. People think he will be a fan favourite over there at Milan. He is not expensive and very much what they are looking, so this is a very exciting signing for them.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

Liverpool signed Origi from Lille for a transfer fee of £11.37 million back in the summer of 2014. The forward was a handy player for the Reds.

Origi scored 41 goals and registered 18 assists in 175 appearances for the club's first-team. The Belgium international found the back of the net in some big games too (2019 Champions League final, Merseyside derbies etc).

Origi played reasonably well when given a chance last season (18 appearances). He averaged a WhoScored player rating of 6.72 across the 2021-22 campaign.

Origi is also a very good person. Back in 2021, he launched a new scholarship in partnership with the University of Liverpool.

Therefore, we will certainly miss Origi. But, we wish him all the best with his move to AC Milan.

We would not be surprised if Origi scored plenty of goals for the Serie A side. With a decent run of games under the striker's belt, he could prove to be a brilliant signing.
