Joe Gomez has not had many minutes to play so far this season for Liverpool and that has sparked speculation that he might be leaving in some capacity in the current transfer window.
Reports have claimed that Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa side are among those keen, too, with the Villans looking at ways that they can bolster their side now that their new manager is in his first transfer window in charge of the club.
Naturally, it might be expected he is using his contact book to try and help his cause at Villa Park but it would appear that Gomez will not be switching Merseyside for the Midlands any time soon.
Indeed, according to Villa reporter Gregg Evans who writes for The Athletic, there is no chance that the men in claret and blue are going to be signing our centre-half this month.

Anfield Watch Verdict
This is good news.
Gomez is a fine young defender and though it has not been his most productive season so far there is no doubting that he has the talent to still become a leading centre-half for both club and country.
He is still learning and it is easy to forget he is only 24 given how young he was when he made his debut for the Reds.
Hopefully, then, this is a firm sign that the club still has plans for the former Charlton defender going past this season and he still has a part to play in the medium to long term future of the football club.
