Two clubs are reportedly interested in signing 40-goal Liverpool forward

AC Milan and Atalanta are interested in signing Liverpool forward Divock Origi, according to Tuttomercatoweb, as cited by Sport Witness.

The report states that AC Milan see the Belgium international as a long-term replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The striker is 40 years of age, which highlights that he is at the backend of his career.

The report further adds that Atalanta's interest in Origi could increase if they were to sell Luis Muriel. The forward has been linked with a move away from Serie A club.

Origi's current contract expires at the end of the season. As things stand, the 26-year-old will be a free agent next summer.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Origi is a handy player. The striker has found the back of the net 40 times and registered 16 assists in 167 appearances for Liverpool's first-team.

Also, as we have already pointed out, Origi is only 26 years of age. The Belgium international's career is far from finished.

Therefore, we don't want Origi and Liverpool to part ways. Only time will tell if that is to happen or not.
