"They will destroy us" - Patrice Evra on Liverpool's trip to Old Trafford

Pundit Patrice Evra believes that Liverpool could potentially "destroy" Manchester United at Old Trafford tonight.

The Reds secured a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace at Anfield a week ago. The Red Devils on the other hand are coming off a 4-0 defeat to Brentford away from home.

With that being the case, Evra fears for Manchester United tonight.

As quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, the former Red Devils defender told the Daily Mail the following: "We are touching rock bottom right now, against Liverpool we will need a miracle. The only positive thing is Liverpool haven’t won a game yet, so they also don’t look ready yet.

"So, maybe this match can boost the players’ confidence. If Liverpool are arrogant, we can beat them. But if Liverpool come into this game motivated after they haven’t won any of their first two then they will destroy us."

Anfield Watch Verdict

We don't blame Evra for feeling a bit uneasy ahead of the match.

Liverpool should be defeating Manchester United tonight. The Red Devils are a shambles at the moment.

Liverpool defeated Manchester United 9-0 across two Premier League fixtures last season. There is a clear gulf in class between the two sides.

But, neither team will want to lose because of results in previous weeks. So, the game should be an intriguing watch.

If Liverpool can bring their A-Game to Old Trafford, they should secure a comfortable victory.

Only time will tell if that is to occur. On another note, Roberto Firmino has been deemed fit to feature against Manchester United.

The striker missed last week's clash against Crystal Palace due to a muscle injury.
