"They are great" - Former West Ham boss praises Liverpool duo

Former West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic has recently had plenty of good things to say about Liverpool full-backs Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Reds duo have been superb in attack this season. Robertson has scored one goal and registered 12 assists from 31 appearances.

Alexander-Arnold on the other hand has found the back of the net twice and secured 17 assists this season.

With that being the case, Bilic labelled Robertson and Alexander-Arnold as "the best pair of full-backs in modern football" last weekend.

As quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, the 53-year-old told the Liverpool Echo the following: “They are great. I mean they are playmakers as full-backs. The way they pass the ball, the decisions they are making, the balls through the lines.

“It’s unbelievable because when the opponent is pressing you, they let the ball go wide. They are the best pair of full-backs in modern football.

“To have the privilege to have wide players, playmakers, who can play great balls - not just balls to the midfield - but brilliant balls to your strikers that these two are doing week in, week out for four years.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

We absolutely love the threat that Robertson and Alexander-Arnold offer going forward. Liverpool basically possess two extra attackers out on the football pitch.

Also, both Robertson and Alexander-Arnold have helped Liverpool keep a number of clean sheets this season. The Reds have only conceded 20 goals in 27 Premier League matches.

The exciting thing about Robertson and Alexander-Arnold is that their careers are far from over. The duo are at a good age.

Robertson and Alexander-Arnold are 27 and 23 years of age respectively.

Therefore, we do expect the two full-backs to continue performing for Liverpool in the years to come.

On another note, we wish both Robertson and Alexander-Arnold all the best for the remainder of the season.
