Former Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana has praised Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.

The Englishman played under the German at Anfield between 2015-20. Towards the backend of Lallana's time at Liverpool, he became a squad player under Klopp.

Despite that being the case, the 34-year-old has implied that his motivation levels did not drop because of one man.

As quoted by Empire of the Kop, Lallana told BBC Radio 5 Live’s Football Daily podcast the following: “I know how difficult it is when you’re not playing or not in the squad, it’s tough because you want to play, and you’re paid to play.

“But football is a team sport and everyone is needed and they had to put in a big shift.

“That’s the culture and mentality of the group. You keep training hard and trying to show why you deserve to play – and hopefully you get your chance.

“Klopp is the best motivator I’ve ever spoken to, within a minute of speaking with him, you want to be fighting for your life for him.

“That’s the genius in him.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

Klopp has always been a brilliant man-manager. The German is superb at getting the best out of his players.

So, we weren't surprised to hear Lallana praise Klopp's man-management skills.

On another note, Lallana was a handy player for Liverpool. The midfielder scored 22 goals and registered 22 assists in 178 appearances for the club's first-team.

Lallana also won four major trophies with the Reds. However, he did suffer a lot of injuries during his time at Anfield.

Lallana departed Liverpool and joined Brighton and Hove Albion back in the summer of 2020.

However, because of injuries, the 34-year-old has been in and out of Brighton's first-team. Lallana is contracted until the conclusion of the 2022-23 campaign.
