"Special talent" - Pundit names three midfield players Liverpool could sign

Danny Murphy has named three midfielders that Liverpool should be looking to sign in the future.

With Liverpool reportedly in the market for a midfielder, either this summer or next, former Red Murphy has said that Jurgen Klopp's side could look within the Premier League.

"I wouldn’t say it’s a priority but there are a couple of names that really stand out… (Jude) Bellingham is a special talent, there’s no doubt about that," he told BeMyBet.

"He would be somebody who very few people would be unhappy with if he turned up at Anfield because he can play in a variety of positions in that midfield.

"He’s got super athleticism that Klopp likes for his midfield players and he’s got the ability to score lots of goals in a good team. He would be somebody I would really be looking at, yes.

"If you’re talking about somebody long term to try and fill the void which will be left by Jordan Henderson, then you’d be looking at someone more like Declan Rice, or even Kalvin Phillips."

Anfield Watch Verdict

There is no chance that Liverpool will look to sign Declan Rice. James Ducker of the Telegraph reported last season that West Ham United value the England international at a staggering £150 million.

Regarding Kalvin Phillips, Fabrizio Romano recently reported that Manchester City are targeting him this summer.

The Athletic also said that City could put in an opening bid of up to £50 million for the Leeds United midfielder.

Neither of these players would suit our system in my opinion. They're both defensive players and we don't need a Fabinho replacement just yet.

What we need is a right-sided midfielder and Bellingham ticks every box.

He is the perfect Klopp midfielder and we should be doing everything in our power to sign the 18-year-old.
