The Reds signed the winger from Porto for an initial transfer fee of £37 million back in January.
Since then, Diaz has made two appearances for Liverpool's first-team.
As quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, Mane told CBS Sports the following: "I've spent two, three days with him and he's a very, very nice guy. For sure he will do great for Liverpool because he's so, so talented and he's very humble. A very hard-working player.
"I don't see it as competition. I see it as making each other better players. If you want to be a great team you need these kinds of players. We are really happy to have these kinds of players and for sure, we're going to win and Liverpool will win from it.”
Anfield Watch Verdict
Diaz was prepared to take the game on against the Foxes. The 25-year-old ended up registering a WhoScored player rating of 7.51 against Leicester City, which further backs up that he performed well during his Premier League debut.
Over time, we are confident that Diaz will become a consistent goalscorer for Liverpool. The Colombia international scored 41 goals and registered 19 assists in 125 appearances for Porto's first-team.
The aforementioned figures highlight that he does possess end product in his game.
We look forward to seeing how Diaz progresses over the next 12-18 months.
