Robert Pires names the clubs Mohamed Salah should sign for if he leaves Anfield

Former Arsenal midfielder Robert Pires has recently been talking about Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp said back in December that he was confident that the Egyptian international and the club would agree on new terms.

However, Salah is yet to sign a new deal with Liverpool. The 29-year-old's contract expires at the conclusion of the 2022-23 campaign.

Pires believes that if the 29-year-old does want to leave Anfield, he should look to sign for either Barcelona or Real Madrid.

The 48-year-old told King Fut the following: “The current world’s best in my eyes is PSG’s Kylian Mbappe but two Premier League stars come right after; Man City’s Kevin De Bruyne and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.

“Mohamed Salah’s future depends on what he wants, whether he continues with Liverpool or goes for a new experience. It’s up to him.”

Pires added: “Between Barcelona and Real Madrid, and considering the player’s qualities, I think Salah would perform better with Barca.

“His communication with Xavi would be easy.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

Salah is a world-class footballer. The winger has scored 148 goals and registered 56 assists in 229 appearances for Liverpool's first-team.

Salah has also been averaging a WhoScored player rating of 7.80 during the 2021-22 club campaign.

Therefore, we do hope that the Egyptian international does sign a new deal with Liverpool sooner rather than later.

The Reds can't afford to lose Salah anytime soon. The winger would almost be impossible to replace.
