Reported Liverpool target Erling Haaland hints that he would be open to joining Reds

Reported Liverpool target and Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland has given a hint that he would be open to joining the Reds.

The 21-year-old said that he does not like empty stadiums, which does suggest that he would enjoy playing at Anfield.

Haaland further added that he enjoys English football because of the atmosphere within most venues.

As quoted by LFC Transfer Room, Haaland told Viaplay Fotboll the following: “I don’t like (empty stadiums), and you can see in England it’s full stadiums. If you look on TV you’d rather put on the English game, full of fans, more emotions, more alive the game."

Anfield Watch Verdict

Anfield is a superb stadium for any footballer to play at. The pitch is beautiful, but the atmosphere created by the fans is without doubt the best aspect of the venue.

There is a reason why the Anfield crowd is known as the 12th man. Therefore, we do get the feeling that Haaland would be open to signing for Liverpool.

There is no denying that the striker would add plenty of quality to the club's forward line. Haaland has found the back of the net 80 times and registered 21 assists in 79 appearances for Borussia Dortmund's first-team.

Also, former Arsenal forward Thierry Henry described the Norway international as "lethal" back in March 2021.

"He doesn't care about anything other than the goal," the Frenchman told Sky Sports' Monday Night Football show, as quoted by the Daily Mail.

"Other players will go on the wing - he wants to stay within the frame of the net. Between the two posts, he knows he is lethal.

"He's so powerful, by the way. He just wants to run in behind and the way he finishes is ridiculous. The ability that he has: he believes so much in himself, and I like that.

"There's a bit of cockiness about him, if I can use that word. You've got to look at people and say, 'I'm going to score.'

"He doesn't want to go anywhere else other than to score goals - that's his mind. It's middle, middle or wide, wide, middle."

Haaland will reportedly be available for around €80 million this summer (release clause).
