Liverpool will reject advice from Jurgen Klopp this summer and let a player leave this summer. The boss will also depart, of course.

The Times claims Jurgen Klopp has told Liverpool they should renew Joel Matip's contract this summer. That's despite the 32-year-old suffering an ACL injury that has kept him out for months.

Even without the injury, there was a sense that Matip would leave. He'll turn 33 later this year and Liverpool have competition in the position.

Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group are exploring a deal to buy Vasco da Gama, according to a report in Brazil, as judges SUSPEND 777 Partners’ ownership of the club.

Globo claims that FSG has carried out its due diligence and that the Rio giants would become part of a potential multi-club network with Liverpool at the heart of it.

Newly-appointed FSG CEO of Football Michael Edwards declared on his comeback to the organisation that the multi-club model would be explored with Benfica technical director Pedro Marques being appointed having plentiful experience in this regard with Manchester City.

Hints that a Portuguese team could be added to the network have been given but reports of a takeover of Toulouse in France were ultimately wide of the mark.

Liverpool have reportedly welcomed three players back to first-team training ahead of Jurgen Klopp’s final game as manager.

The Liverpool Echo reports that Thiago was back in training this week ahead of Liverpool vs Wolves this weekend. The Spaniard has appeared just once this season - five minutes in the Premier League against Arsenal.

Thiago immediately picked up another injury in that one, though, and it was one likely to rule him out all season. Liverpool have missed him pretty badly - after all, he's a 'world-class' player and one with skills that stand out against anyone.

However, he's apparently trained.
