Poll results: Liverpool fans pick Florian Wirtz or Jamal Musiala

Anfield Watch have asked Liverpool fans who they'd prefer to sign - Florian Wirtz or Jamal Musiala. Thousands have responded.

German football has two ridiculously exciting prospects right now in Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala. The pair, currently at Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich respectively, are lighting up the Bundesliga and have done for a few years now.

And Liverpool have actually been linked with both. Sport 1 recently claimed that Musiala is wanting more minutes and could push to leave Bayern, with the Reds lurking just in case.

Wirtz has been a solid link for a while now and his form this season brings about new talk. Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany reports that Leverkusen do expect their star talent to leave over the next couple of years. Liverpool, as ever, are in the mix.

It's highly likely that the Reds sign neither, of course. They're both incredibly expensive deals and competition for each will be enormous.

But it's possible, at least. What isn't possible is that Liverpool sign both - so would should be the priority? We asked our Twitter followers on Tuesday and after just shy of 7000 responses, there's a clear favourite.

In fact, it's not even close.

A massive 72 per cent of fans opted for Musiala over Wirtz. It's a sign of just how high the Bayern man's reputation sits - Wirtz is one of the best midfielders in world football at just 20 but he didn't have a chance here.

Perhaps that has something to do with Wirtz's injury dampening the hype over the last year. Maybe it's because Musiala is playing at a higher level at Bayern, shining in the Champions League as well as the Bundesliga.

Whatever the exact reasons, it's clear that Liverpool fans would much prefer the club go all-out for Musiala over his compatriot. Either would be fantastic but Musiala would be a sensational signing.
