PL side eyeing transfer raid on Liverpool for 26-year-old ace

Newcastle United are said to be looking into the possibility of signing Divock Origi from Liverpool, with the Magpies aiming to have a productive January transfer window.

The Tyneside club is embarking on its first market under the Saudi-led reign and they are clearly looking to make an few early statements with Kieran Trippier already on the way in.

Indeed, that does not seem to be anywhere near the end of it if you judge by reports and it seems as though Origi is another player under consideration for a move to the St James' Park outfit.

According to The Telegraph, Newcastle United have a handful of strikers that they are taking a closer look at at the moment and Origi is on the list, with the report suggesting that Liverpool have placed a price tag on the Belgian attacker's head of just £7m.

Anfield Watch Verdict

It is no surprise to see clubs lurking around Origi.

He has frustrated at times for Liverpool but has also had some hugely iconic moments, with more coming this season, and it seems only a matter of time before a club takes him and gives him the opportunity of more first-team football.

Certainly, if the report is accurate in stating that the Reds only want £7m then the clubs will be queuing around the block at Kirkby trying to make an offer to sign him, because that does seem pretty cheap for what he can bring on his day.

Will he remain in the Premier League if he leaves Liverpool? Newcastle United may well be hoping so.
