Therefore, the Reds midfielder was unavailable for the club's last-16 League Cup clash against Preston North End, which took place at the Deepdale Stadium on Wednesday night.
Despite that being the case, Milner was spotted at the match with some of the Liverpool staff. The 35-year-old really is a team player.
