Pep Lijnders sends Naby Keita message amid AFCON exploits

A lot has been made of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah's absence in recent weeks with them at AFCON but Naby Keita has also been there with Guinea and he is arguably doing the best of the three in an individual sense.

Two man-of-the-match awards and a thumping goal from the edge of the box in the last game have made him one of the early stars of the tournament this month and it's certainly good to see him such great form for his nation.

Indeed, Pep Lijnders used his pre-match press conference on Wednesday to issue praise for Keita, who has perhaps been a little forgotten compared to Mane and Salah:

Anfield Watch Verdict

Keita is a very good player when he is on form and he has shown that at AFCON.

Hopefully, he continues to do well out there and then returns ready for the rest of the season.

In the form he is showing, he could easily be a key member of the side in the coming months.
