Pep Lijnders has said that Harvey Elliott is looking sharp now he has returned to training and that it is just a case of getting the midfielder back up to full fitness before he can get back into the side.
Elliott had a good loan at Blackburn Rovers last season with him performing really well in the Sky Bet Championship.
The Reds took note of that, too, and put him into the first-team for the start of the season with him looking impressively at home in the opening weeks of the campaign.
A nasty ankle injury ruined the momentum, though, and he has since had to spend time recuperating, with him getting back into first-team training at the start of this week.
That in mind, here's what Lijnders had to say about him:

"He didn't lost his football brain during the time he was off. It would be a crime not to play him when you see him like that yesterday." 🔴 pic.twitter.com/PaIJfiVFrz

Anfield Watch Verdict
Elliott won't be back in the first-team straight away but he can't be far away either.
He's a player of considerable talent and one that will be itching to get back to the action as soon as possible.
He has massive quality, and is a player that Liverpool will be looking forward to being able to call upon once more in the near future.
