Pep Guardiola makes honest admission regarding Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has admitted that the Liverpool side Jurgen Klopp has assembled is the toughest team that he has faced throughout his managerial career.

Since 2018, the Citizens have won three Premier League titles under the Spaniard. Despite that being the case, Klopp's Reds have enjoyed some success in recent years.

Since 2019, Liverpool have won the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, Premier League title and League Cup under the German.

With that being the case, Guardiola has labelled Klopp's Liverpool side the best he has ever come up against during his time as a manager.

As quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, Guardiola told Sky Sports the following: “Liverpool are the toughest opponent I have ever faced in my 12-13 years as a manager.

“Liverpool in the last few years have been outstanding.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

Guardiola's comments regarding Liverpool are classy. The Spaniard is spot on with his assessment of the current Reds team. As we have already highlighted, they are a very good side.

In terms of the 2021-22 Premier League title race, Liverpool have a chance of claiming the trophy.

The Reds are six points behind league leaders Manchester City. However, Liverpool do have a game in hand.

Klopp's side will also face off against Guardiola's team on the 10th of April at the Etihad Stadium.

Therefore, Liverpool are certainly in the mix to claim the title this season. If the Reds were to win the trophy, they would equal Manchester United's all-time record of 20 English first division league titles.

But, a lot will still have to go right for the Reds if they are to finish on top of the Premier League this season. As we have seen over the years, Manchester City are relentless.

Only time will tell which side will claim the 2021-22 title.
