"Outstanding player" - Jurgen Klopp full of praise for Carvalho after Newcastle clash

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has waxed lyrical about Reds attacker Fabio Carvalho.

The 20-year-old replaced Trent Alexander-Arnold during the second half of Liverpool's Premier League clash against Newcastle United at Anfield last night.

The game was level at 1-1 when Carvalho took to the pitch. However, the youngster found the back of the net in stoppage-time to ensure that Liverpool left Anfield with the three points.

Klopp told the Liverpoolfc.com the following: "He scored now twice in the last two games. Yesterday, birthday. So it’s probably a better week. He is an outstanding player, wonderful talent, very mature in a lot of departments already.

"So I’m really happy for him. Harvey (Elliott) was the best player on the pitch and Fabio decides the game. That says a lot about the talent of the boys."

Anfield Watch Verdict

Liverpool signed Carvalho from Fulham for a transfer fee of Β£5.31 million earlier this summer. The attacker has had a good start to life at Anfield.

Carvalho has scored two goals in six appearances for the Reds. To be fair, no one should be surprised by his output, as he was a solid player for Fulham.

Carvalho found the back of the net 11 times and registered eight assists in 38 appearances for the London-based club last season.

Under the guidance of one of the best managers in the world (Jurgen Klopp), the world is at the youngster's feet.

Hopefully Carvalho can continue his good form in the weeks to come.
