Jurgen Klopp has praised Thiago Alcantara after a dominant display against Manchester United.

Speaking after Liverpool beat Manchester United 4-0, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, Klopp has hailed Thiago as 'world-class'.

"Not bad eh? He is a world-class player. He can be pretty dangerous with and without the ball," said Klopp.

"Thiago played a good game. So from our point of view, there is really nothing to moan about. We really don't take this for granted.

"He didn't want to come off! He wanted to stay on the pitch - I like the desire behind that! He played a proper game. Football is outstanding, but his counter-pressing was mad. That makes the full package. I couldn't respect it more.

"He is an outstanding player. We have to make sure that he can keep his rhythm and that he can play as often as possible."

Anfield Watch Verdict

If you are an aspiring midfielder and you want to watch a perfect performance, just watch Thiago against Manchester United.

The Spaniard did not put a foot wrong for the entire time he was on the pitch. Not even as a fan of Liverpool but as a fan of football, that was a joy to watch tonight.

In my opinion, it's up there with one of the best displays a midfielder has ever produced for Liverpool Football Club.

Stats don't always show if someone has had a good game but Thiago's stats today are absolutely outrageous and give you a sneak peek of what was witnessed tonight.

The most touches [129], most accurate passes [105], most passes in the final third [25], most duels won [7], most successful take-ons [3/3], most tackles [3] and the most interceptions [2].

It was a masterful display of footballing genius. We may never witness someone with Thiago's technical ability at Liverpool again so take it in and appreciate it whilst you can.
