The reaction to the 2021-22 campaign highlights why Liverpool are massive

The 2021-22 season concluded just over a week ago, so we've had some time to reflect on what has occurred over the past 10 months.

Well, it was certainly an eventful campaign for Liverpool.

The Reds challenged on all fronts, but could only secure the League Cup and FA Cup. It was heartbreaking to see Liverpool lose the Premier League title to Manchester City on the final day.

It was equally as shattering to see Real Madrid secure a 1-0 victory over the Reds in the Champions League final.

Because of how the season ended, a number of rival fans have certainly had plenty to say about Liverpool's campaign. Of course, nothing positive has been said about the Reds from those people.

You'd of thought Liverpool had been relegated to the Championship the way some rival supporters have been carrying on in recent days.

But, the Anfield faithful know the reality of the situation. Liverpool have never been in a stronger position during the Premier League era.

Until last season, we had never seen the Reds compete for the league title, Champions League, League Cup and FA Cup in the space of 10 months.

However, for some reason, rival supporters are mocking Liverpool for challenging on all fronts and parading the domestic double in the city. To be fair, people love to see us fail. The Reds are massive.

Despite the obvious disappointment of missing out on the two biggest trophies in club football, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was not shying away from the fact that what his team achieved last season was simply remarkable.

"It’s an unbelievable season," he told the club's official website during the parade, as quoted by Anfield Watch on Twitter.

"What the boys did is unbelievable, what the coaches did is unbelievable. The concentration we kept up, the level we kept, unbelievable. All good. Now I have a holiday!"

He added: "We celebrate life, we celebrate the season, we celebrate our competitions, we celebrate the championship.

"I’m proud of the players but I’m proud of these people, to be honest. Unbelievable. Yesterday in the stadium some things happened that nobody understood, our families were in trouble, all these kinds of things.

"Now we come here and see this, when you see the eyes of the people, it’s incredible. That’s the best sign you can get: you don’t have to win, you just need to put all that you have in, really throw everything on the pitch and the people of Liverpool love you."

We are confident going forward that Liverpool will be able to win more silverware under Klopp. The reality is, the German possesses a squad full of winners.

The Reds have claimed six trophies under Klopp. However, we do believe that it is vital the 54-year-old adds some quality players to his squad ahead of next season to keep everyone on their toes.

Competition for places brings out the best in footballers. Hopefully Fenway Sports Group, the club's owners, back Klopp this summer transfer window.

Without the funds, he can't improve his team drastically. It has been reported that Liverpool are likely to lose Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich.

The Senegal international has been a fine player for the Reds over the years. Mane has found the back of the net 120 times and registered 48 assists in 269 appearances for the club's first-team.

So, there's one player that potentially needs replacing already. But, Klopp has a brilliant track record in the transfer market.

We back any decision that he makes. For the time being, we do hope that the boys enjoy their break from club football.
