Liverpool still have more business to complete until the end of the window and these are the next three transfers Richard Hughes could look to target.

Liverpool are currently concentrated on wrapping up a deal for Martin Zubimendi with plenty left to solve for the Reds as Real Sociedad have began an offensive to persuade him to remain at the club.

But while Richard Hughes will be focused on that deal there are three others that he will also be looking to wrap up from now until the end of the summer transfer window.

Aside from bringing in a holding midfielder, Hughes has other priorities in the squad that need to be addressed and he will be determined to complete at least three more deals after signing Zubimendi.

Who are the players Liverpool could target after Zubimendi?

Richard Hughes travelled to Spain earlier this week not merely to wrap up a deal for Zubimendi but also to hold talks with Valencia over the potential arrival of Giorgi Mamardashvili.

That deal is still on the agenda for Liverpool with the club hoping to loan at the Georgian international to Bournemouth - Leicester City and a return loan to Valencia has also been discussed.

If a deal is completed for Zubimendi Anfield Watch understands it is expected that Liverpool will look to make a move for Mamardashvili as well.

Away from the Georgian keeper, Hughes is also targeting a centre-back. However, before Liverpool bring in another defender the club would like to resolve the future of Sepp van den Berg.

Slot is an admirer of the Dutch international and he'd be content to keep him as a squad player. However, Van den Berg wants more of a regular role in the team, and would be open to a permanent move away from the club. But prospective targets must pay his £20m transfer fee.

The shortlist of centre-backs for Liverpool includes the likes of Piero Hincapie. Meanwhile more recently Liverpool have reportedly been eyeing a move for Antonio Silva.

In addition to a centre-back, Liverpool are still exploring the market for an attacker. Hughes and the recruitment team wants to bolster Arne Slot's attacking options and have reportedly targeted German international Maximilian Beier although he is morel likely to join Borussia Dormtund. But he's just one name among many others with Anthony Gordon another high on the list of the club's targets.
