Fabrizio Romano has shut down rumours linking Liverpool's Mohamed Salah to Barcelona next summer.

With Mo Salah yet to agree a deal with Liverpool over an extended contract, rumours started that other European powerhouses were interested in signing the Egyptian.

A report from Javier Miguel claimed that Barcelona were set to go 'all in' for the Liverpool forward this summer as a 'Plan B' for if they miss out on Erling Haaland.

However, transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has shut down those rumours of a potential move to Barcelona this summer.

Romano says that Salah is not 'planning' a move to La Liga despite contract talks with Liverpool at a standstill.

He also confirms that Mo is not 'desperate' to move clubs during the next transfer window as he could leave for free when his contract ends in 2023.

Finally, Romano reiterates his stance from a few days ago; 'New contract talks still broken - it’s only up to Liverpool.'

Anfield Watch Verdict

This is good news for Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp would not have been happy if Salah's agents were talking to other clubs while he is in the middle of a title race.

Also, fans are going to be thankful that it's not true, considering the previous dealings we've had with the Spanish club.

In today's press conference for the Arsenal game on Wednesday, Klopp once again was asked about the Egyptian's contract talks, to which he said he was 'not concerned.'

"I am not concerned. It is how it should be. The decisive parties are in contact," said Klopp.

Hopefully, these rumours can stop now. Liverpool fans and Klopp are focused on winning the first quadruple in English football history and having these negative stories overhead can damage a team's morale.
