Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has earned the distinction of being named in the L'Equipe team of 2021, ahead of fellow world stars Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Whilst 2021 in full had its ups and downs for Liverpool, Salah was once again at the top of his game with him scoring a number of memorable goals and providing plenty of assists along the way too.
Indeed, in this season so far he has earned calls from many to be labelled the best player in the world right now, and you'd certainly do well to find another player that is performing as well as he is currently.
Certainly, that fact has not been lost on French publication L'Equipe, with him earning a spot in their team of 2021, ahead of the great Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, as per the Mail:

Anfield Watch Verdict
Messi and Ronaldo remain world-class operators with the Argentine, perhaps controversially, winning another Ballon D'Or towards the end of the calendar year last year.
However, it is clear that there is a little bit of a changing of the guard in terms of the conversation for best player in the world, with the duo's powers perhaps starting to finally wane ever so slightly.
Salah, meanwhile, looks at the very peak of his powers and as we head into 2022 he will be determined to achieve glory at AFCON and then try and aim to win some silverware before the end of the season with Liverpool.
A player of his calibre deserves major honours, and there are surely more to come.
