Egypt face Ivory Coast on Wednesday in a round of 16 clash at the Africa Cup of Nations with Mohamed Salah naturally set to be in action for the Pharaohs.

The Reds have done well without Salah and certainly better than some might have expected in recent weeks, with the gap in the Premier League to Manchester City slightly closed up and passage to the EFL Cup final secured.

Indeed, he'll be back soon enough now but will be eyeing a route to a final himself, with three wins for Egypt needed to get into the AFCON showpiece.

He's looking relaxed and happy, too, judging by this update:

Anfield Watch Verdict

Liverpool fans all over the world will be hoping that Salah can achieve international glory with Egypt as that is something that he still doesn't have in his trophy cabinet.

He'll go down as one of the great footballers in his country's history if he can seal the trophy and that will be the aim.

Up first, then, the Ivory Coast.
