What Luis Diaz has said about Mohamed Salah's contract talks with Liverpool

Ahead of Colombia's game against Peru on Saturday morning UK time, Luis Diaz has been speaking to the media in Colombia and he was asked about Salah's contract talks with Liverpool.

The Liverpool winger gave his honest verdict about how feels about Salah's current talks with the club and what he hopes the outcome will be.

“It would be hard for us, as well as for Liverpool. It will hurt a lot, he has a year to think about it, it is not easy at all,” Luis Díaz told Colombian TV, Telemundo as per Semana.

“He always talks to us, it would be very hard to lose a player as key as he is. It is the teammate's decision, and it is respected. Hopefully he doesn't leave."

Diaz is not wrong. Salah is one of the best players at the club and to lose him would be very difficult for the Reds.

The first few games of the season have shown just how important Salah is to this Liverpool team.

It it moot that the club would be where they are on the table without the contributions of the Egyptian. He is one of the best players in world football and still very much in his prime.

Not giving him a contract extension would be a negligent decision from the club.
