Liverpool youngster wanted on loan by clubs across Europe

Young Liverpool winger Harvey Blair is wanted by a host of European clubs this January and is expected to leave the Reds on loan this month.

Blair suffered a long-term injury at the beginning of the season that stopped him securing a loan switch last summer, but has now recovered from his setback and is ready to get regular minutes under his belt.

The 20-year-old made his debut for the Reds in a 2-0 Carabao Cup victory over Preston North End in 2021, but has managed just two appearances for Liverpool's U21s this term due to his fitness concerns.

According to the Daily Mail, Blair is expected to be loaned out by Liverpool in January, with plenty of clubs interested in the attacker.

Blackpool, who are currently managed by former Liverpool youth coach Neil Critchley, are interested in Blair, the League One outfit having reportedly monitored him for 'some time'.

Other League One sides are keen on the winger, with Leyton Orient and Reading named as potential suitors.

However, there are also teams on the continent that are tempted by Blair, supposedly sides from Belgium and Denmark - although no specific foreign clubs are named in the report.

Blair is likely to be one of many young players loaned out this winter, with Liverpool also having recalled a number of talents from loan who struggled for game time during the first half of the season.

Fabio Carvalho was brought back from RB Leipzig and looks set to join Hull City in the Championship, while Rhys Williams and James Balagizi have returned to Merseyside from Aberdeen and Wigan Athletic respectively.

Owen Beck was recalled from his successful loan with Dundee to provide cover at left-back, but may be loaned out again at the end of the month as players return from injury.

Nat Phillips' six-month deal with Celtic came to an end in January, but the fan favourite centre-back may be kept around at Anfield given Joel Matip's season-ending injury.

Young goalkeeper Marcelo Pitaluga has joined Irish side St Patrick's Athletic on loan after signing a new deal with Liverpool.
