Speaking to Football Insider, the pundit said that the Liverpool hierarchy will be "raging" after the Egyptian got injured on international duty and decided to play.
“Liverpool will probably be raging. It’s things I’ve seen throughout my own career, this kind of battle between club and country," Hutton said.
“The player wants to play for this country, which is obviously great, but for the club, they obviously pay him the big wages. They expect him to be ready for pre-season and fighting fit.
“If he needed an operation, for talking sake, and he’d miss four, five weeks because of it, you could get that done now. He’d be back in time.
“Hiding the scan results or not showing Liverpool what’s going on, it masks over all that. They’re left in the dark.
“Of course, you’re going to be angry about that. It’s just natural you want your best players fit and ready to go for the start of the new season.
“It’ll be interesting to see what comes out from it. It’s not ideal hiding it from the club.”
🚨 NEW: Mohamed Salah will miss Egypt's game against Ethiopia after picking up a strain. The Liverpool forward played in his country's 1-0 win over Guinea on Sunday but has since undergone scans that have shown a small problem. #awlive [the athletic] pic.twitter.com/fWconzsY1C
Anfield Watch Verdict
It's just a stupid thing to do from Salah's end. You work with the club's medical team every day. To go against their direct orders is baffling.
This is just another thing to add to the list (refusing to sign a new deal) of why certain Liverpool fans are angry at the Egyptian international currently.
We could understand why Salah played with an injury during the 2018 World Cup a few seasons ago, but this was the first round of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifications, a tournament they qualify for every time it comes around.
Hopefully Salah can stop messing the club around and chill out this summer. He doesn't need to cause any more drama.
