£20m Liverpool midfielder scores winner vs Man Utd on Erik ten Hag's D-day
It's could be a decisive day in the future of Erik ten Hag's career at Manchester United.
The Dutchman is coming under an insurmountable amount of pressure, and his job is hanging on by a loose thread at the moment.
But it's just not United's first team who are in focus at the moment. On Teng Hag's D-Day for United, the Red Devils' U21 side took on Liverpool in what was a fiercely contested affair.
And just like United fans are used to disappointment at senior level against the Reds, Liverpool came out on top in this academy clash as well.

Why Tyler Morton caught the eye vs Man United
Liverpool’s U-21 side edged out a narrow 1-0 win against bitter rivals Manchester United this afternoon, with talented midfielder Tyler Morton grabbing the only goal of the game.
In a low-key affair, Morton was able to sweep the ball into the United net after the ball rebounded to him on the edge of the box.
It was yet another goal for the £20m rated midfielder who was the subject of plenty of interest last summer. He now has three goals and one assist in three Premier League 2 appearances.
Who else featured for the U-21s?
Aside from Morton, recognisable names involved in the Liverpool team included Trey Nyoni and last week’s UEFA Youth League goalscorer Amara Nallo, who was named on the bench for the young Reds.
It continues to be an important season at Anfield for the 21 year-old Morton. Consistently linked with loan moves away all summer, Liverpool’s inability to purchase another holding midfielder in the shape of Martin Zubimendi meant that Morton was kept around in order to provide further depth in the midfield.
We’ve already seen the importance of having enough depth in even the most unlikely of circumstances, such as the key late cameo made by third-choice keeper Viteslav Jaros against Crystal Palace, and no doubt the same sort of trust will be placed in Morton at various times this season.
Indeed, Morton has already featured for the first team as a substitute in Liverpool’s Carabao Cup thrashing of West Ham, and may very well feature similarly in the next round of the competition when the Reds travel to Brighton.
