Liverpool youngster Zac Jagielka has left the club in order to sign for Championship side Hull City.

The teenager had been with the Reds since under-13 level but it was reported last week that the striker was on trial with the Tigers ahead of a potential summer move.

It has now been confirmed that Hull have clinched the signing of Jagielka, where he is expected to link up with their under-18s.

Jagielka is also a Wales under-17 international and boasts a famous father in the shape of ex-Everton captain Phil Jagielka.

The 40-cap England international played for Liverpool’s Merseyside rivals from 2007 until 2019 and is a former Goodison Park captain.

Zac had been one of a number of Liverpool academy prospects with fathers who played the game at the highest levels.

Liverpool and Hull connection

Bobby Clark is the son of former Newcastle player Lee Clark, Jayden Danns’ dad Neil Danns played for Birmingham City among others, Lewis Koumas’ father is ex-Wales international Jason Koumas and Maynor Figueroa’s son Keyrol Figueroa is a highly-regarded young talent for the Reds as well as the United States men’s national team

It comes as Liverpool and Hull develop links with several Reds’ stars moving on loan for game time to the MKM Stadium in recent years.

Tyler Morton enjoyed a stellar campaign there last season, becoming one of the Championship’s best midfielders, while forward Fabio Carvalho managed to get his career back on track following a poor spell at RB Leipzig.

Morton and Carvalho will both be hopeful of impressing new Liverpool coach Arne Slot as he embarks on his first season in charge at Anfield.

Morton has been subject to transfer interest from RB Leipzig, coached by Pep Lijnders, while Barcelona were reported to be looking at Carvalho as a cut-price option up front.

This summer Hull have also reportedly identified James McConnell as a potential arrival.
