Liverpool want to sign Dominik Szoboszlai's 'best friend' as Mohamed Salah's REPLACEMENT
Liverpool are still trying to explore alternative options should they fail to secure a contract agreement with Mohamed Salah.Â
At this moment in time, Richard Hughes hasn't quite extended the Egyptian's deal at Anfield beyond the end of the current season.
Despite Salah's excellent start to the campaign, as he himself said after Liverpool's victory over Manchester United this could his last season at the club.
The Reds will of course want to avoid that. However, there is no guarantee they will be able to which is why Hughes and his recruitment team will have to explore alternative options.
And that could see the Reds making a move to sign one of Dominik Szoboszlai's 'best friends' in football.

Why Liverpool are looking to sign Karim Adeyemi
With that in mind, one player who is on Liverpool's radar is German international, Karim Adeyemi. The Borussia Dortmund winger has been tracked by Liverpool for a long time.
He was linked with a move while he was at Red Bull Salzburg, where we know Liverpool like to shop.
But he hasn't quite exploded onto the scene at Dortmund since making the step up to Germany's top tier.
Yet this season it seems like Adeyemi is finally on the right track, having scored five goals and registered five assists in just eight games.
That form will have attracted the attention of Liverpool with Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg reporting that the Reds are monitoring Adeyemi's situation at Dortmund and view him as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah.
Why Adeyemi is close friends with Dominik Szoboszlai
If Liverpool were to sign Adeyemi, he will find a close friend already at the club. The pair of them were teammates at Salzburg and Szoboszlai even dedicated a goal to Adeyemi during the 2022/23 Bundesliga season.
In the past, Liverpool's no.8 has called the German international one of his best friends in the game and described how Adeyemi called him before an important game against Bayern Munich in order to encourage him to win, with Adeyemi's club, Dortmund fighting for the Bundesliga title at the time.
"He's one of my best friends," Szoboszlai told bundesliga.com "We had a phone call before the game, and he was just telling me, 'Please, if you can, do your best.' I said: 'First all of we have to concentrate on us and reaching the Champions League, but if with this win I can help you, then I will give it my best. It was for him."
