Liverpool transfers: FOUR stars including Diaz and Nunez 'offered to Barcelona'

FOUR Liverpool players including Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz have been offered to Barcelona through their agents, according to a remarkable new report from Catalonian media.

Barcelona’s financial situation is precarious with president Joan Laporta out of economic levers to pull and the club requiring sales before they sign players this summer.

A number of first-team stars have been touted as available - including Ferran Torres and Raphinha - with Barca seeking to generate income so they can invest in the team.

A long-term successor to Robert Lewandowski is sought by manager Xavi up front, along with another reliable forward to play out wide.

And El Nacional now claims that the answer to TWO of those problems could be found at Liverpool.

Luis Diaz ‘offered to Barca’

It’s no secret that Luis Diaz has been attracting Barca’s attention for some time now with the Catalans’ interest going back to the winger’s Porto days.

The Colombian is under contract until 2027 and a couple of months ago it was reported that Barca were quoted between €120 million and €140m for Diaz in initial talks over a transfer

That sum was deemed by club officials to be ‘unfeasible’.

However it is now claimed that Diaz’s representatives have been in contact with Barcelona’s sporting director Deco in another attempt to work out a deal.

Nunez ‘dreams of following Suarez’

Likewise, Deco has had contact from the agents of Darwin Nunez, according to El Nacional, which claims the Uruguayan dreams of following in the footsteps of ex-Liverpool star Luis Suarez and leading the line for Barca.

The ex-Benfica striker is represented by Jorge Mendes’ Gestifute agency, which also boasts clients like Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo - who both moved to Barca on loan last summer - as well as another Barca target in Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva.

Given the 24-year-old is under contract on Merseyside until 2028, a deal is likely to be out of the range for Barca unless they cash in some of their big chips like Ronald Araujo or Lamine Yamal.

More questions have been raised regarding Nunez’s future after a topsy-turvy season with links to Victor Osimhen resurfacing of late.

Tsimikas and Carvalho touted

Meanwhile, reserve left back Kostas Tsimikas has also been offered to Barca through his representatives, according to the report.

The 27-year-old is the long-term understudy to Andy Robertson but hasn’t convinced that he can make the grade as a first-team player at Anfield.

Manager Jurgen Klopp is described as ‘a great supporter’ of the Greece international by El Nacional and his future could well come under scrutiny when the manager goes. Tsimikas is contracted until 2027.

Also mentioned is Fabio Carvalho, currently on loan at Hull City and making waves in the Championship. Barca were reportedly keen on the 21-year-old while he was still at Fulham, before his controversial move to Anfield, and Deco is set to reignite his interest having been contacted by intermediaries.

Carvalho has endured a difficult time as a Liverpool player - including a failed loan spell at RB Leipzig - and is under contract until 2027.

There could well be a clearout at the club this summer with Richard Hughes - incoming sporting director - to make his mark on the squad.

Barca’s interest at this stage might seem fanciful given their uncertain finances but should they manage to offload a few players of their own then they could well come knocking on Liverpool’s door.
