Liverpool transfers: PSG promise up to SIX signings amid Luis Diaz bid reports

Luis Diaz is a reported target for Paris Saint-Germain ahead of the summer transfer window with the Liverpool winger’s Anfield future shrouded in uncertainty.

Earlier this year it was reported that another interested party, Barcelona, had been quoted €120 million to €140m for the Colombia winger.

Under contract until 2027, Diaz would no doubt fetch a hefty price should Liverpool decide to cash in but it’s unlikely that Barca could reach the sums involved.

PSG are known to have a summer war chest and are seeking to replace Kylian Mbappe in their attack with a number of high-quality candidates linked.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Bernardo Silva are among the names associated with a Parisian arrival this summer with Diaz also reckoned to be a target for Luis Enrique’s side

Diaz uncertainty

Liverpool have been reported as open to the idea of a Diaz sale, should they receive an appropriate transfer offer this summer.

Diaz arrived in the winter of 2022 from Porto for a reported £37.5 million transfer fee, signing a five-year deal.

It’s been reported that Diaz earns a weekly wage packet of £55,000, far less than fellow attackers Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo, not to mention top earner Mohamed Salah.

No new deal between the 27-year-old and the club has been forthcoming however, despite reports of a new contract to ward off interest in the Colombia international.

PSG want SIX new faces

And now manager Luis Enrique has spoken about PSG’s desire to create something different with Mbappe departing and questions surrounding how the French champions intend to replace him.

The former Barcelona manager predicted a full-scale transfer market assault, with up to SIX new arrivals who can take up the goalscoring burden.

With space emerging on the left side of the PSG attack, one of those new faces could well be Diaz.

"How will we replace Mbappe? Four, five, six signings... Whatever we can do,” the Spaniard told reporters.

“Kylian's replacement will be the team, which, with the fans we have and the ambition this club has to win everything we will try in the coming seasons and we will see if we are capable of achieving it.

"It is a great challenge for any player who wants to come here. We want to make history.

“This club sooner or later will win that long-awaited Champions League. Years may pass, but it will win the Champions League in the future without a doubt."
