Liverpool transfers: Reds now looking into deal for one of world’s best talents

Liverpool are reportedly looking into a deal for one of the best young talents on the planet. Manchester City, however, lead the charge.

The Independent claims Liverpool are one of several clubs looking at Jamal Musiala right now. The German playmaker is currently regarded as one of the world’s brightest young talents.

But Musiala has become disillusioned at Bayern Munich as the club struggled badly this season. It’s at the point where clubs believe he could push for a transfer and the pecking order is now sorting itself out.

Manchester City are leading the charge here. They’ve got the budget and are already looking to sign an attacking player this season - a long-term replacement for Bernardo Silva makes sense for them.

Liverpool, however, are watching closely. They’re joined in that by Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, though English clubs could have an advantage here.

Musiala grew up in England and would supposedly prefer a move to the Premier League over anywhere else. Of course, that all depends on whether he’s even set to move in the first place.

Should Liverpool break the bank for Musiala?

Musiala is arguably one of those talents that you go all-out for if he’s available, regardless of who’s on your books. Liverpool certainly aren’t short on creative players, but the Bayern star really is good enough that you make room for him.

Though, as with all transfers this year, Liverpool need to know who their manager is before breaking the bank on a star signing. No one can be completely certain on the formation the Reds will be playing next season, after all.

So don’t expect any great movement on Musiala for a little while. If Bayern do ultimately find themselves selling, it would benefit Liverpool for things to simmer for a little while.

Then they can decide whether it’s worth putting up the cash to rival Man City.
