Liverpool transfers: Talks opened with England Euro 2024 star Eberechi Eze
Liverpool have contacted the representatives of Crystal Palace winger Eberechi Eze over a potential summer deal with Manchester City and Tottenham also interested.
That’s according to The Palace Way, which claims the ground is being prepared for potential incomings at Selhurst Park amid interest in Eze and fellow forward Michael Olise.
Palace are attempting to safeguard against losing their creative duo by making a bid for Club Brugge star Antonio Nusa.
Anfield Watch can also confirm that reports of a £60 million release clause in the contract of England international Eze are not accurate.
The 25-year-old scored 11 goals and added four assists in 27 Premier League outings for Palace last season and, like Olise, his output really picked up following the appointment of Oliver Glasner as head coach.
Man City and Spurs also want Eze
The wide forward signed a new contract with Palace in November, which ties him to the south London club until 2027.
He has been with the Eagles since 2020, when he moved from Queens Park Rangers for around £17 million.
The Reds could face competition from long-term suitors Manchester City as well as Tottenham, according to the report, with Eze’s form placing him on the radar of the biggest teams in the league.
Liverpool's winger chase
Liverpool are reported to be in the market for forwards this summer with uncertainty over the long-term futures of both Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz.
Also linked are Bryan Mbeumo, Dario Osorio, Mohammed Kudus and Brajan Gruda. Olise was reportedly a target before his shock move to Bayern was mooted late last week.
It’s not the first time the Reds have been linked with Eze with previous managerial incumbent Jurgen Klopp believed to have taken a look ahead of last summer’s transfer window, according to ESPN.
He has played 124 times for Palace since his move from QPR, appearing mostly on the left wing but is also adept at playing in the No.10 position too.
